New Year’s Eve Gala
This New Year’s Eva Gala will focus on the music of two phenomenal composers and opera geniuses: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Gioacchino Rossini. Often compared with each other, they represented two different styles and aesthetic approaches. They both made their debuts at a very young age. Mozart wrote his first singspiel when just 12 years old! It was just a prelude to his future successes: in the end, he wrote over 20 brilliant stage works. Born less than 3 months after Mozart’s death, Rossini was fascinated with the Viennese master’s oeuvre. Today, he is considered one of the greatest composers of the Italian bel canto. He left behind 39 operas. Both Mozart’s and Rossini’s works are invariably among the top most popular operas the world over. The gala will feature a specially curated selection of their arias and ensembles.
Performing the famous arias and ensembles are Polish star soprano, Olga Pasichnyk, as well as baritones Andrzej Filończyk and Tomasz Kumięga. Music director Maestro Patrick Fournillier conducts the Orchestra and Chorus of the Polish National Opera.
