Dear Audience Members,
The Polish government has decided to extend most of the Covid-19 restrictions currently in place until 3 May, which means no cultural events can be held in front of a live audience until that time. As a result, we have been forced to cancel the following performances:
Cardillac – 27, 29 April 2021
Mariusz Treliński’s production of Paul Hindemith’s opera Cardillac under Tim Murray starring Tomasz Konieczny in the title role will be recorded and broadcast at a later date. The production’s partner is Grupa Tubądzin.
You may now buy tickets for our May performances, including Willy Decker’s take on Massenet’s Werther under Patrick Fournillier starring Piotr Beczała (7 and 9 May 2021) and educational events. The premiere of Franz Liszt’s ballet Mayerling in Kenneth Macmillan’s choreography is postponed from 21 May to 4 June (subsequent performances: 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 June), while Premiere Prelude: Franz Liszt will take place on 2 June instead of 20 May.
Until we can finally welcome you to our theatre, join us on vod.teatrwielki.pl, where you can watch Krzysztof Pastor’s adaptation of Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet Romeo i Juliet. The production is also available on OperaVision.
