Exceptional, adored, unforgettable…

An icon of Polish ballet, Ewa Głowacka died suddenly on 19 October 2020. Endowed with an exceptional talent, she was the brightest star of the Teatr Wielki’s ballet company of the past fifty years.

An embodiment of beauty, poise and humility towards art, she was universally respected and admired by her audiences. She made guest appearances on our stage and shared her experience with the artists of the Polish National Ballet as tutor until her last years. She will remain a legend of the Polish ballet scene, while her compelling stage portrayals (some of which w present below), great humility, warm-heartedness and personal appeal will always be remembered with gratefulness.
