WORLD BALLET DAY 2017

The Polish National Ballet joins in the celebrations of the World Ballet Day on 5 October, taking you behind the scenes to sneak a peek of dancers at work.

The Polish National Ballet has again been invited to take part in the World Ballet Day, an initiative launched in 2014 by the Royal Ballet, the Australian Ballet, the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the National Ballet of Canada, and San Francisco Ballet. The highlight of the day will be a 22-hour Facebook live stream contributed to by 24 ballet companies from around the world! The Polish National Ballet will be joining the event with unique behind-the-scenes footage of a rehearsal for Krzysztof Pastor’s Bolero as well as interviews with our First Soloist Dawid Trzensimiech and Soloist Yurika Kitano. The broadcast will be hosted in English by PBN artist Jordan Bautista (here giving you a taste of the fun to come, straight from a Swan Lake performance). Tune in to the broadcast on our Facebook page from 1:30 to 2 pm on 5 October!

In a run-up to the event, we have been posting Instagram Stories to our Intagram page presenting a behind-the-scenes look at our dancers’ work, courtesy of PBN artist and ballet blogger, Aneta Wira-Ostaszyk.

Also, do not miss contributions from other companies invited by the Royal Opera House! Here is the list:
