WORLD BALLET DAY 2021

19 October is World Ballet Day. We will celebrate with a behind-the-scenes stream from the Polish National Ballet.

A couple of dancers watch and listen as choreographer gives them pointers.

On this day the world’s top ballet companies come together to celebrate dance. World Ballet Day returns for its eighth year, giving you an insider’s view of 50 dance companies around the globe. See morning class and rehearsals, get a sneak peek of upcoming performances and see ballet’s biggest stars at work. Fill your day with dance, streamed for free across six continents.

Two female dancers look into the distance where the choroegrapher is pointing.

The Polish National Ballet will go on the air at 11:15 a.m. CET on vod.teatrwielki.pl and Facebook to give you a chance to witness the dancers rehearsing for the company’s newest ballet programme Exodus | Flights-Harnasie. Your host Coryphée Marco Esposito will talk to the choreographers Anna Hop and Izadora Weiss, and director of the Polish National Ballet Krzysztof Pastor.
