La Folle Journée de Varsovie
La Folle Journée de Varsovie: 20th century American music
Held around the world for almost two decades, in Poland for five years. Last year’s result: 60 concerts, 1,000 performers and an audience of almost 37,000. This year everything revolves around American music: from classical giants, through film music, jazz, blues, all the way to musicals. Three days, from morning till night: short concerts, brilliant programmes, unique performers, a casual atmosphere. A brilliant idea. An event for absolutely everyone. It’s really hard to find an excuse not to take part in this madness. The festival’s fifth edition will be devoted to 20th-century American music. It will feature works by American composers and pieces that European composers wrote as émigrés:Bernstein, Gershwin, Copland, Barber, Dvořák, Rachmaninov, Williams.
The organisers reserve the right to change the programme and performers.
