Workshop-ON for children aged 10+
Educational project 10+
What is the difference between composing and arranging music? Is writing a song, symphony, opera, or film music the same thing? Do you need sheet music to play music? The participants of this workshop will also get to know what a score is and what it is used for, learn about the different groups of instruments in an orchestra, and be given an introduction to the music industry, that is the ins and outs of recording classical and pop music. The workshop is also an excellent opportunity to find out what the purpose of conducting is and whether it is always necessary.
The practical part of the workshop will see the participants make music together: playing an assigned rhythm on percussion instruments and producing different interpretations of a melody. The children will be also asked to come up with melodies and they will be arranged on the spot.
Led by composer and arranger Jan Stokłosa.
