Mariusz Treliński celebrates a huge international success! For the first time in history Polish opera director stages a production at New York's Metropolitan Opera. What is more, the production is immediately included among the top pieces transmitted worldwide as part of the Met Live in HD series. The double bill of Iolanta by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Bluebeard's Castle by Bela Bartók is a triumph of the artistic duo of Mariusz Treliński and Boris Kudlička. The production premiered at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw in December 2013, and was conducted by Valery Gergiev. Iolanta's part was performed by Tatiana Monogarova, while the role of Vaudemont was played by Sergei Skorokhodov. In the second opera of the bill, Nadja Michael sang the part of Judith, and was accompanied by Gidon Saks as Bluebeard.
On 26 January 2015 the double bill premieres at the Metropolitan Opera, whose orchestra will be conducted by Valery Gergiev, while the leading parts will be renedered by: Anna Netrebko (Iolanta), Piotr Beczała (Vaudemont), Nadja Michael (Judith), and Mikhail Petrenko (Bluebeard).
It is a milestone in Treliński's career and in the history of Polish opera. Be a part of the event and watch the performance transmitted live, unusually at the Teatr Wielki, where the production developed.
