The Teatr Wielki is a national culture institution and as such it is supervised by the Minister of Culture, National Heritage and Sport of the Republic of Poland.

The Teatr Wielki and BMW Group work together on the OperaLab project and the BMW Jazz Club concerts. The opera house has also hosted the BMW/Art/Transformy project.
