A quest for love across European opera
Musical performance for five singers and four instrumentalists
For the fifth anniversary of enoa (European network of opera academies), eight institutions of the network gather to co-produce Be With Me Now, a musical performance that has its origins in The Magic Flute.
In the midst of the performance, Tamino leaves the stage and starts his quest for a lost love throughout four centuries of music and all over Europe. Thanks to the video, the audience follows him from one city to another, guided only by the music. Tamino's journey brings together extracts by Britten, Lambert, Bellini, Stravinsky and Handel as well contemporary pieces commissioned to Daan Janssens and Vasco Mendonça, which highlight the vitality of the opera genre in Europe today.
