Christmas Concert of Alla Polacca
Puer natus in Bethlehem!
The history of the Alla Polacca Choir goes back to 1983, when Sabina Włodarska, a graduate of the Academy of Music in Poznań and student of maestro Stefan Stuligrosz, became the artistic director of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association's Central Artistic Ensemble. In 1990, the association handed over the management of the ensemble to the Alla Polacca Foundation.
For over 30 years teachers for the ensemble help child, teenage, and adult choristers to develop their musical talents, train their voices, teach correct diction and expression that shows in their posture, speaking and singing. They also help them nurture their musical sensitivity and artistic passions. Young music lovers practice and give concerts divided into four separate sections: the youngest ones, children, teenagers, and chamber ensemble. They take part in national and international competitions with many successes.
Alla Polacca's repertoire spans all epochs, including a capella pieces, works with orchestra, harp, piano and organ accompaniment. The ensemble has recorded many works of Polish contemporary music for the archives of the Polish radio and television. The choir has also released 18 albums.
In 2014 Anna Bednarska took over from Sabina Włodarska as the artistic director.
Magdalena Gruziel became the chamber ensemble's conductor.
Rhytmics classes for the youngest ones are run by Jowita Szołoch.
