National Symphony Orchestra of Washington
JOHANNES BRAHMS, GUSTAV MAHLER
Legendary conductor and one of the world's most famous orchestras! A unique opportunity to listen to the National Symphony Orchestra under its music director Christoph Eschenbach. The Washington-based ensemble will be performing at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera for the first time. The soloist this evening will be the excellent cellist Daniel Müller-Schott.
Each year they give about 150 concerts, their music adding splendour to many celebrations of international significance. More than 80 years of performance tradition and an extensive repertoire are not this orchestra's only virtues: their activity at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts contributes to the development of arts education in the United States.
Krzysztof Penderecki – Adagio for strings from Symphony No. 3
Antonín Dvořák – Cello concerto in B minor Op. 104 (solist: Daniel Müller-Schott)
