Polish Radio For Children / Polish Radio Chopin
Education project of Polish Radio Chopin and Polish Radio for Children in association with the Teatr Wielki.
If Fryderyk Chopin lived in our times, he would not only 'run to the opera' as was in his habit, but would also check out the radio. The new educational project addressed to children aged 5-10 will allow them to take an inside look at how radio operates. During these Saturday meetings children will have an opportunity to not only learn how to tell a polonaise from a kujawiak and why one should not confuse Chopin’s compositions with Moniuszko’s works, but they also will be introduced to a radio broadcaster’s trade secrets, they will get acquainted with the equipment needed by radio journalists in their work and have a chance to talk to a reporter about forms of radio expression. They will learn how to record and how one can mess around with a microphone; they will also see what sound looks like on a computer screen and take part in a recording of interviews for radio shows broadcast on the Polish Radio for Children. The meetings will culminate in the recording of a fairy tale with the participation of willing children. The workshops will feature well-known personalities of the Polish Radio for Children, mainly journalists appearing regularly on this channel.
