Finale of the 19th Singer's Warsaw Festival of Jewish Culture
A fusion of the tango and Sephardic music performed by YASMIN LEVY, the GANG TANGO and their guests. The finale of the 19th Singer's Warsaw Festival of Jewish Culture.
Outstanding Israeli vocalist YASMIN LEVY considered one of the most fascinating and talented world music artists makes her debut at the festival this year during the finale concert to be held at the Polish National Opera's Teatr Wielki in Warsaw.
The programme includes the most famous Polish and international tangos by composers of Jewish origin, Władysław Szpilman and Jerzy Petersburski, as well as Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Gardel, and others, alongside Sephardic songs. All the pieces will be performed in new, fiery interpretations by Israeli vocalist Yasmin Levy.
The singer will be joined on stage by Yechiel Hasson (guitar), Jeno Lisztes (cimbalom), Arad Emamgholi (daf), Anna Wandtke (violin), and the Gang Tango, including Grzegorz Lalek (violin), Piotr Kopietz (bandoneon), Mirosław Feldgebel (piano), and the band's leader and music director, Sebastian Wypych (double bass), who founded the ensemble and originated the idea for SEPHAR TANGO. The concert will feature a tango showcase by Anny Iberszerand Piotr Woźniak.
The tango's powerful emotional appeal, original harmonies and rhythm, and the music's sophistication make it highly popular with audiences and challenging for the performers. Luckily, all of the artists on this projects are recognised virtuosos and tango experts who tour the world over.
