Youth Spirit of Dance
Polish-Japanese dance project
Youth Spirit of Dance is a Polish-Japanese dance project. Since its launch in 2017, it has been presented to critical acclaim on leading Polish and Japanese stages The project was conceived and is now led by prominent Polish dancer Wiesław Dudek, an Ambassador of Polish Culture and the Founder and President of the Wiesław Dudek Duch Tańca (Spirit of Dance) Foundation, which is the organiser of the event.
This year’s edition celebrates the 550th birthday of Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. COPERNIC 550 is an interdisciplinary show that embraces various contemporary dance techniques, enticing music by renowned composers, works by emerging choreographers – Bartłomiej Malarz and Emilia Sambor – and recognised artists: Katarzyna Kozielska, Aleksandra Dziurosz, Przemysław Grządziela, and Małgorzata Borowiec. The video projections designed by Daniel Stryjecki, one of the best directors of large-scale artistic events, lighting design, props, innovative costumes, and narration will transport the audience straight into outer space.
The show features nearly 50 performers, the most gifted ballet students from Japan and Poland, including pupils of the ballet schools in Warsaw, Poznań, and Bytom.
