Musical matinées
Educational project 5+
Led by opera and ballet soloists and members of the Polish National Opera’s orchestra, this educational programme offers children a chance to experience music and participate in educational games in order to make it possible for them to enter and enjoy the world of opera in the future. The participants are presented with the opera singers vocal capabilities and the sound of instruments that accompany opera and ballet performances shown on the stage of the opera house. The children are also treated to stories read out to them by a narrator to the accompaniment of the discussed instruments and have a chance to appreciate the role of music in theatrical performance. Often, the young music lovers can try their hand at playing the instruments as the instructors encourage their active participation in the meetings. To bolster their confidence, we ask for the children to be accompanied by adults during the matinées.
Who may participate:
Children aged 5+ accompanied by a guardian.
