Finals of the 12th International Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition
The Competition lasts 2–7 June 2025
Organised by the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, the International Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition is the largest singing competition in Poland. It was established in 1992 by Maria Fołtyn, the star Polish soprano and the legendary interpreter of Moniuszko's Halka who was a tireless promotor of Moniuszko's music.
Every three years emerging singers gather in Warsaw to showcase their talent in front of prominent representatives of the opera industry. The 12th edition of the Competition will see 85 participants from 28 countries compete for a place on the podium. Poland has the largest representation, closely followed by South Korea.
This year's event is yet another chance to witness intese artistic rivarly of the highest order and a chance for Polish vocal music to shine on the international stage.
PROGRAMME
• The Finals of the 12th edition of the Moniuszko Competition. Each Finalist performs two arias: one Polish and one international. The soloists are accompanied by the Orchestra of the Polish National Opera under José Maria Florêncio.
