A RENAISSANCE BALL
A performance by the Sarabanda Historical Dance Theatre
with the accompaniment of period instruments by Kapela Królewska:
Agnieszka Obst-Chwała, Paweł Zalewski, Maciej Chwała, Piotr Wawreniuk, Paweł Wachowski, Witold Wilgos, Wojciech Lubertowicz

A dance performance with live music inspired by Renaissance balls and court entertainment featuring elements of historical theatre. The dancers will showcase Renaissance ballroom and theatrical dances drawing on old treatises (Italian, French and English known in Poland and popular across Europe), inviting the audience to join in the fun. The show will be complemented with a presenttaion of courtly attire based on historical patterns. In between the dances, you will have a chance to listen to performances by the participants of the period performance workshop led by the virtuoso tombone player Stephanie Dyer (UK).

As part of the festival, sackbut player Stephanie Dyer (UK) will lead a workshop for trombonists and cornett players interested in historically-informed performance.
