Development of the Potential of Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera: Purchase of Equipment For Cultural Activity
Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera has been once again awarded funding through the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme to buy nearly 400 pieces of equipment needed to carry out its cultural activity. The grant is part-financed by the European Union and the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and financed the purchase of:
- Equipment for the mechanical workshop and stage machinery
We have bought 20 pieces of equipment used to build structures supporting sets and put scenery in place.
- Equipment to produce theatrical property, costumes, and scenery:
We have bought 20 pieces of eqiupment to fit workshops that produce costumes, scenery, sets, props, etc., for opera and ballet productions.
- Stage lighting equipment
We have bought 290 pieces of stage lighting equipment.
- Musical instruments
We have bought 65 musical instruments: harps, flutes, clarinets, violins, a bassoon, of master quality to enhance to sound of the company's orchestra.
- Sound system for the Młynarski Hall
We have fitted the Młynarski Hall with a sound reinforcement system and a stage monitor system.

The project 'Development of the Potential of Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera: Purchase of Equipment For Cultural Activity' has been carried out under Task 8.1 'Preservation of Cultural Heritage and Development of Cultural Resources', Priority Axis VIII 'Preservation of Cultural Heritage and Development of Cultural Resources' of the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme for 2014–2020.
The overall cost of the project exceeded 9.5 million zlotys. The grant will cover 7.8 million zlotys, more than 6.2 million of which comes from the European Regional Development Fund, while nearly 1.6 million zlotys was provided by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
