Adam Kutny is a graduate of Jerzy Kurczewski's Poznań Choir School and the Pacific Boychoir Academy in Oakland, USA. He holds a degree with distinction from the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, where he studied solo singing with Jarosław Bręk.
Current and recent engagements: at the Staatsoper Berlin Marcello in La Bohème under Domingo Hindoyan; Belcore in L’elisir d’amore; Heerufer des König’s in Calixto Bieto’s Lohengrin; Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Wroclaw Opera; Bariton in Hippolyte et Aricie with the Freiburger Baroque Orchestra under Sir Simon Rattle. In concert Bartok's Cantata Profana, Beethoven's Mass in C Major Op. 89 with Radio Filharmonisch Orkest in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam under Karina Canellakis; Szymanowski's Stabat Mater with Silesian Philharmonic under Yaroslav Shemet.Past engagements: Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro at the Bregenzer Festspiele; performances at the Staatsoper Berlin – Masetto in Don Giovanni; Escamillo, Morales in Carmen, Steuermann in Tristan und Isolde, Baryton-Martin.
Awards: The Queen Sonja International Music Competition in Oslo, Norway 3rd prize; Mercedes Vinas Special award at the 53rd International Vocal Competition Francisco Viñas in Barcelona, Spain; Grand Prix at the International Vocal Competition Iuventus Canti in Vrable, Slovakia; 3rd prize and two special awards at the 2nd Jan Kiepura International Vocal Competition in Krynica-Zdrój, Poland; Special award Grazia Cavanna at the 9th Concorso Internazionale di canto lirico Rinaldo Pelizzoni in Parma, Italy
