Alexander Marev is a Polish-Bulgarian tenor, born in 2000. He began his vocal training at a very young age with the Bulgarian tenor Kaludi Kaludov. Later he was admitted to the vocal department of the renowned Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel to study with Jose van Dam. Parallel to this training in Belgium, Alexander Marev graduated from the vocal department of the Elsner Music School in Warsaw. He also studied at the Royal Brussels Conservatory in the class of Valerie Guillorit.
Marev has won numerous national singing competitions in his native Poland and has taken part in many masterclasses. For the 2021/22 season he was a member of the MM Academy, the young talent program of the Opera La Monnaie/De Munt in Brussels.
In the season 2024/25 he will debut at the Teatro Regio di Torino as Marcellus (Hamlet) and return to the Royal Opera House of Wallonia in Liège as Melot (Tristan und Isolde) as well as Flavio (Norma) in Opera de Toulon.
Recent projects include: Melot (Tristan und Isolde) in Liège, Flavio (Norma) in Athens, Lovec (Rusalka, and and his debut as Pang (Turandot) at the Theatre La Monnaie in Brussels, Albazar (Il turco in Italia), Poisson (Adriana Lecouvreur) in Liège, and Garter (Henry VIII) by Saint-Saëns at the Theatre de la Monnaie in Brussels.
Highlights of the 25/26 season include Flavio in Norma at La Monnaie in Brussels, Soloist in Faust Symphony by F. Liszt under the baton of Maestro Giampaolo Bisanti, and Melot in Tristan und Isolde at the Philharmonie de Paris.
