Andrzej Lampert

Tenor

Andrzej Lampert studied at the Grzegorz Fitelberg Music School in Chorzów and the Faculty of Jazz and Pupular Music of the Academy of Music in Katowice. He also studied the voice under Janusz Borowicz at the Academy of Music in Kraków. Since 2011 he has been collaborating with vocal coach Helena Łazarska.

He is a prize-winner of the 3rd Ignacy Jan Paderewski Singing Competition in Bydgoszcz, Poland; the 15h International Ada Sari Vocal Artistry Competition in Nowy Sącz, Poland; and the 15th Imrich Godin Iuventus Canti Competition in Vráble, Slovakia.

In 2010 he made his debut at the Silesian Opera, Bytom, Poland as Alfred in Verdi’s La Traviata. In 2013 he returned to Bytom to sing Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. In the meantime, he became a soloist of the Kraków Opera, where he made his debut as Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and sang Nemorino in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, Barinkay in J. Strauss’s Gipsy Baron, Paris in Offenbach’s The Beautiful Helene, Walther in Wagner’s Tannhäuser, Don Narciso in Rossini’s Il turco in Italia, and Ernest in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale. Elsewhere in Poland he has also performed as Nadir in Bizet’s Les pêcheurs de perles and Romeo in Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet. 

In 2014 he was Alfred in Verdi’s La Traviata at the National Opera of Montpellier. The next year he sang Tamino in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the opera house in Baden. 

In concert he has performed solo parts in Bach's St Matthew Passion under Conrad Artmüller (Vienna 2014) and St John Passion (Salzburg 2015). He has also appeared at the Salzburger Festspiele (2013, 2014) and was invited to take part in performances of vocal and instrumental music in Canada and Germany.

He has recorded Moniuszko's Paria (DUX), Rossini's Petite messe solennelle (Warsaw Symphony Orchestra, May 2018), and Szymanowski's Symphony No. 3 'Song of the Night' (NOSPR, October 2018). He has collaborated with the PIN ensemble and recored a piece with Sarah Brightman for her Symphony album (2008).

In 2017 he received the Jan Kiepura Award for Best Opera Singer. In 2018 the role of Romeo in Gounod's Romeo and Juliet earned him a Złota Maska and the Zbigniew Gruca Award presented by Dziennik Teatralny. On 21 September 2018 he was presented with an award for services to culture in Silesia.

In November he performed with the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra in Lisbon. In December he will sing in La Traviata at the Silesian Opera.

In 2019 he will be Shepherd in Szymanowski's King Roger in Graz, then will make his debut as Lensky in Eugene Onegin with the Polish National Opera.
