Polish jugendlich-dramatischer sopran (lyric dramatic soprano), Anna Patrys is the winner of the inaugural Elizabeth Connell Prize for Dramatic Sopranos in 2014. She studied at Music Academy in Katowice under the tutelage of Professor Henryka Januszewska-Stańczyk.
In the 2017/2018 season Anna Patrys sang Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 at the Lower Silesian Philharmonic in Jelenia Góra. In 2018 she debuted in the title part in G. Verdi’s Aida at the Silesian Opera in Bytom and in the part of Elisabetta in a new production of Verdi’s Don Carlo at the Immling Festival in Germany directed by Stefano Simone Pintor. Miss Patrys is permanently cooperating with the Och-Theatre in Warsaw, where she sings in Terrence McNally’s theatre piece Maria Callas. Master Class.
In the 2018/2019 season Anna Patrys has performed the soprano part in Verdi’s Requiem in France and Germany with with the Junge-Kammerphilharmonie Freiburg. In May 2019 she will debut in the title part of S. Moniuszko’s opera The Countess at the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk.
After her studies, Ms Patrys has been performing as a chamber singer with main Polish vocal ensembles. Her repertoire includes chamber works and major vocal symphonies, including H.M. Górecki's Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Symphony Lobgesang, M. Zieleński's Sinfonia Sacra Elegerunt Apostoli andW. Kilar's Angelus.
Anna Patrys performs both works of baroque music as well as recently discovered ones. She took part in concerts for the European Broadcasting Union with the popular series of 'Discoveries'. Ms Patrys sung various contemporary premieres and cooperated with highly valued ensembles and soloists such as: Marek Toporowski, Władysław Kłosiewicz, Jan Tomasz Adamus, Agata Sapiecha, Accademia Bizantina in Ravenna, Peter Wagner, Capella Cracoviensis, Camerata Silesia, Capella Czestochoviensis.
She has sung under the baton of such conductors as Lorenzo Coladonato, Krzysztof Penderecki, Peter Hirsch, Ottavio Dantone, David Lee, Lawrence Foster, Christopher Lyndon-Gee, Ulf Schirmer, Lothar Koenigs, Christopher Moulds, Carlo Rizzi, Frank Strobel, Dave Claessen, Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk, Tomasz Bugaj, Marek Moś, Władysław Kłosiewicz, Kazimierz Kord, Wojciech Michniewski, Małgorzata Kaniowska, Sebastian Perłowski, Łukasz Borowicz, Bohdan Jarmołowicz and Wojciech Czepiel.
Ms Patrys is also the founder of the Sudeten Singing Artists Association L’Orpheo.
