Annemarie Kremer

In 2025/25 the dramatic soprano has some very interesting role debuts, including the Empress in Frau Ohne Schatten at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw in a production of Mariusz Treliński. She sings Turandot at the Wiesbaden State Theatre, Isolde in Tristan und Isolde in Glasgow, Venus in Tannhäuser at the Opera House Lisboa and Brunhilde in Walküre at the Teatro Colon Buenos Aires.

Recent engagements brought Annemarie Kremer as Isolde to the Opéra de Lille, as Marie in Wozzeck to the Gran Teatre de Liceu Barcelona and the Opéra de Monte Carlo, as Heliane in Das Wunder der Heliane and as Ardiadne in Ariadne auf Naxos for the Reisopera Enschede or as Brunhilde in The Ring on one Evening for the Berlin Philharmonics, the Frankfurt Old Opera, and the Isar Philharmonic Orchestra Munich.  She sang a Wagner gala concert with the Rhine Philharmonic Orchestra and Salome at the Leipzig Opera House.  

Her most sung roles include Salome , a part in which she succeeded at the Budapest State Opera, the Moscow Bolshoi Opera, in Sao Paolo and Belém, at the Hongkong Opera House, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Vienna Popular Opera, the Hannover State Opera or the Aalto Theatre in Essen. She portrayed Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s Macbeth at the Salzburg Felsenreitschule, Manon Lescaut at the German Opera Berlin, Violanta at the Teatro Regio di Torino or Isolde in Tristan und Isolde at the Karlsruhe State Opera. Already in 2018 the Dutch soprano sang her first Isolde  to great critical acclaim at the Opera House Linz in the Bayreuth staging of Heiner Müller.

The soprano works with famous conductors and stage directors such as Simone Young, Sir Simon Rattle, Hartmut Haenchen, John Gaffigan, Natalie Stutzmann, Edo de Waart, Vladimir Jurowski, Anthony Bramall, Stefan Soltesz, John Neschling, Jaac van Steen, Gabriele Ferro, Paolo Carignani, Jean-Louis Grinda, Christopher Alden, Christine Mielitz, John Fulljames, Tilman Knabe, Gilbert DeFlo,  Roland Schwab, and Gérard Corbiau. 

The artist started her musical studies with singing and piano at the Maastricht Conservatory and completed her education with dancing studies. She made her debut as Ilia in Mozart's Idomeneoat the Aachen Theatre.

For her interpretation of Norma at the Opera North she was nominated by the German magazine Opernwelt as Singer of the Year 2012. She was also nominated for the International Opera Awards. 

Other important appearances of the past seasons were Tosca, Medea, Manon, Butterfly, Luisa Miller, Maddalena in Andrea Chenier, Rusalka, Roselinde in Die Fledermaus, Ursula in Mathis der Maler, Feldmarschallin in Der Rosenkavalier, Elisabeth in Tannhäuser at the Opera Houses in Frankfurt, Berlin, Monaco, Leipzig, Stuttgart, Paris,  Düsseldorf, Montreal, Antwerp, Dortmund, Wiesbaden, Stockholm, Amsterdam, and Essen.

Extremely popular in her native country the Netherlands, Annemarie Kremer was elected in 2012 to sing the May 5th Concert for the Queen of the Netherlands. She regularly performs at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam: here she sings numerous concerts and concert performances such as Vier Letzte Lieder, Don Giovanni, Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow, I Lombardi, and Agrippina.

Annemarie has been awarded with the Dutch Golden Violin (2019) to honour her impressive international career.
Besides, Annemarie Kremer has recorded several CDs including arias and masses by Mozart, works by Mendelssohn and Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Das Wunder der Heliane (NAXOS-2018). Excerpts from Agrippina and Violanta in Torino are available on DVD (NAXOS-2019).
