Arnold Rutkowski is one of the most widely recognized Polish tenors and has performed alongside leading opera personalities. In 2009 he sang in a concert together with Placido Domingo, while in 2017 he made his debut as Pollione in Norma alongside Edita Gruberova.
His 2009 Modena debut as Don José in Carmen turned out to be a gateway for his international career. Since then he has sung at the Teatro Comunale Alighieri, Ravenna; Teatro Communal di Ferrara; Teatro de la Opera, San Juan, Puerto Rico; Phoenix Metropolitan Opera; Michigan Opera Theatre, Detroit; Szeged Festival, Hungary; Budapest Opera; Bolshoi Theater, Moscow; Mikhailovsky Theater, St. Petersburg; Finnish National Opera; Royal Swedish Opera; the opera houses of Toulon, Marseille, Lyon, and Paris; Aix-en-Provence Festival; Theater Wiesbaden; Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Dusseldorf; Oper Leipzig; Staatstheater Stuttgart; Semperoper Dresden; Staatsoper Hamburg; Staatsoper Berlin; Sydney Opera House; Volksoper, Vienna; Grand Théâtre de Geneve; Zurich Opera House; Concertgebouw, Amsterdam; Opera de Lima, Peru; Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera.
He is a prize-winner of a range of competitions, including Operalia in Paris, the Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry Competition in Nowy Sącz, Poland, and the Jan Kiepura European Tenor Contest.
He has collaborated with such opera figures as Dmitry Czerniakov, Peter Sellars, Robert Carsen, Nello Santi, Pier Giorgo Morandi, Alan Altinoglu.
