Grzegorz Szostak

Grzegorz Szostak studied at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw under Professor Alicja Dankowska-Prawdzic. He made his debut at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, singing Szóstak in a students' production of Moniuszko’s Flis.

From 1993 to 2004 he was a soloist of the The Representative Artistic Ensemble of The Polish Armed Forces, and from 2004 to 2012 a soloist of the Music Theatre in Lublin. Since 2008 he has been a soloist of the Grand Theatre in Łódź, while collaborating with the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, Wrocław Opera, Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic in Białystok, Silesian Opera in Bytom, Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, Music Theatre in Łódź, Jan Kiepura Music Theatre in Warsaw, and Gliwice Music Theatre.

Grzegorz Szostak peformed in a range of operas, operettas, conserts, and musicals in Europe (Gruber Ballet – Opera Paris, ArtMedia – Passau, Show Attack – Koeln, Cicada.Con – Berlin, Supierz Artist Menagment – Amersfoort), concerts for the Belgian royal family and the Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg, New Year’s concerts at the Palaise des Festivals in Cannes, and in Montreux. 

His repertoire includes over 60 roles, such as Skołuba and Zbigniew in Moniuszko’s The Haunted Manor, Zuniga in Bizet’s Carmen, Don Bartolo and Don Basilio in Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, Sarastro in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Caspar in Weber’s Der Freischutz, Crespel in Offenbach's The Tales of Hoffman, Vodnik in Dvořak’s Rusalka, Zaccaria in Verdi’s Nabucco, Philip II and The Grand Inquisitor in Verdi’s Don Carlos, Prince Gremin in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Raymond in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, Daland in Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman, Tevye in Bock’s The Fidler on the Roof.

At the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera Mr Szostak sang Crespel and Luther in The Tales of Hoffman (directed by H. Kupfer) and Monk in Don Carlos (directed by W. Decker). Volynski, T. Bugaj, G. Chmura, P. Sułkowski, T. Wicherek, Ł. Borowicz, T. Tokarczyk, J.M. Florencio, R. Silva, E. Salmieri, D. Mikulski, C. Montanaro, M. Klauza.
