Joanna Moskowicz studied at the Łódź Academy of Music and completed a postgraduate course at the Wrocław Academy of Music. She participated in masterclasses led by Professor Barbara Schlick, Professor Ingrid Kremling, and Professor Ewa Czermak held as part of the Wratislavia Cantans Festival, as well as Professor Ryszard Karczykowski, Professor Teresa Żylis-Gara, and Professor Helena Łazarska as part of the Mozarteum International Summer Academy in Salzburg. She received scholarships from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Richard-Wagner Stipendienstiftung in Bayreuth.
In 2007 she received a Złota Maska (Golden Mask) award for her debut as Rosina (The Barber of Seville) at the Grand Theatre in Łódź. From 2008 to 2017 she was a soloist with the Wrocław Opera, where she debuted as The Queen of the Night in The Magic Fluteand subsequently sang Olympia in The Tales of Hoffmann, Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Adina in L'elisir d'amore, Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Hanna in The Haunted Manor, Musetta in La bohème, Adela in The Bat, and Leila in Les pêcheurs de perles.
She has sung under Tadeusz Kozłowski, Ewa Michnik, Andriy Yurkevych, Friedrich Heider, José Maria Florêncio, Ruben Silva, Łukasz Borowicz, Jari Hamalainen, Anne Randine Overby, Bassem Akiki, Matteo Pagliari, Samuel Hogarth, Uwe Sandner, Jakub Klecker, Francesco Bottigliero, Andrzej Straszyński, and Jacek Kasprzyk, and worked with directors such as Kerstin Maria Pöhler, Susanne Andrade, Barrie Kosky, Mariusz Treliński, Michał Znaniecki, Irina Brook, Rocc, Georg Rootering, Urs Häberli, Waldemar Zawodziński, Michał Zadara, and Anette Leistenschneider.
In 2013 she was named Best Coloratura Soprano and Best Polish Singer at the 8th International Stanisław Moniuszko Singing Competition in Warsaw. In 2016 she received the Jan Kiepura Award for Best Singer. She has performed at the Xanten Sommerfestspiele, Schlossfestspiele Regensburg, Saaremaa Opera Festival, and Bergen Nasjonale Opera.
Current engagements include The Queen of the Night in the Komische Oper Berlin production of The Magic Flute directed by Suzanne Andrade and Barrie Kosky, Kunegunda in Candid and Ewa in Moniuszko's The Countess at the Baltic Opera Gdańsk, Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) and The Queen of the Night at the Warsaw Chamber Opera.
