Magdalena Koleśnik is a graduate of the Ludwik Solski Academy of the Dramatic Arts in Kraków, Poland. In addition to acting, she studied puppetry for a year in Białystok, Poland (a department of the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of the Dramatic Arts in Warsaw). She made her acting debut at the Ateneum Theatre in Warsaw, in Die Macht der Gewohnheit (dir. M. Miklasz). For her role of Maria Lukianovna in The Suicide (dir. J. Trela) she received a prize at the 32nd Drama Schools' Festival in Łódź, while her performance in The Dybbuk (dir. M. Kleczewska) earned her the Andrzej Nardelli Award for the best acting debut awarded by the Theatre Critics’ Section of the Polish Performing Artists Union (ZASP).
She has performed in a few films, including Robert Gliński's Kamienie na szaniec and Jan Komasa's Miasto 44.
In the field of theatre, she has worked with such directors as Maja Kleczewska, Grzegorz Jarzyna, Krzysztof Garbaczewski, and Piotr Łysak. In 2015 she joined the Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw.
At the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera she is the Phantom of Marie in Mariusz Treliński’s production of Korngold’s Die tote Stadt.
