Marek Bracha is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (2012) and holds the Masters of Music degree from the Royal College of Music in London, which he obtained under Kevin Kenner's supervision (2011). He also completed a postgraduate programme in piano performance under Vanessa Latarche and period instruments under Geoffrey Govier (2012).
He actively performs classical music repertoire on both modern and period instruments.
Bracha works with Polish composers, expanding his repertoire to include new solo, chamber, and orchestral works, including pieces by I. Zalewski, D. Przybylski, and J. Bruzdowicz.
He performs on period pianos and teaches historically informed performance. In 2017 he led workshops as part of the Academy of Period Pianos in Lusławice in 2017. He promotes Polish music through his concerts on all continents (China, Japan, Italy, Germany, the USA, Venezuela and Chile).
As a soloist, he collaborates with conductors such as Alun Francis, José Maria Florêncio and Jacek Kaspszyk. As a chamber musician, he performs with Tobias Koch, Marcin Masecki, Maciej Frąckiewicz and ensembles such as the Atom String Quartet, Royal String Quartet, and Meccore String Quartet.
In 2017 his most important performances included concerts at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews with the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra conducted by Jerzy Maksymiuk, featuring W. Szpilman's Concertino and Richard Addinsell's Warsaw Concerto; the inaugural concert of the 5th Emanacje Festival at the European Music Centre in Lusławice with the Scharoun Ensemble der Berliner Philharmoniker, featuring Schubert's Piano Quintet “The Trout” and Mozart's Quartet in G minor, KV 478; a concert with the Atom String Quartet as part of the Wisłostrada Sztuki Festival with Mozart's Concerto in A major, KV 414, featuring improvised cadenzas.
The pianist's discography includes a solo album containing works by Fryderyk Chopin (NIFC) and Modern Soul on which he accompanies violinist Agata Szymczewska (CD Accord) and which received the Supersonic Award from Pizzicato magazine.
In February 2018 Marek Bracha made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York, performing works by Chopin. In April this year he will perform at the 22nd Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw.
