Among Michal’s recent and future engagements is Calaf in Turandot, Smetana's Dalibor, Canio in Cavalleria rusticana, Radamès in Aida on the stage of National Theatre in Prague, Arrigo in I Vespri Siciliani with Teatro Comunale di Bologna and a cover of Arrigo for Teatro Regio Torino. In the 2022/23 season he was also Verdi's Otello at the National Theatre in Brno. In 2021/22 he sang Arrigo in I Vespri Siciliani at the Bergen National Opera and Ismaele in Nabucco at the 2022 Bergen National Opera Summer Festival.
Previous engagements include Erik in Der fliegende Holländer, Don Jose in Carmen, Calaf in Turandot, Gustavo in Un ballo in maschera, Cavaradossi in Tosca (all in Prague), Calaf in Turandot, Cavaradossi in Tosca and Radames in Aida (SND Bratislava), Luigi in Il Tabarro (Ostrava), Radames in Aida (ND Brno).
Other past highlights include Henri in Verdi’s I Vespri Siciliani (HNK Zagreb, Theater Bonn, Nice), Duca in Rigoletto (Wiener Staatsoper), Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly (Hungarian State Opera and Nagoya, Japan), Faust in La Damnation de Faust and tenor solo in Dvorak's The Spectre's Bride (both with Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague, Valencia, Madrid and Valladolid), Janacek's The Diary of One Who Disappeared (Rimini), Dvorak's Stabat Mater (Vienna Musikverein), Roberto Devereux (Bratislava Philharmonie and Hungarian State Opera), Ismaele in Nabucco (Deutsche Oper Berlin), Steva in Jenufa (Janacek International Music Festival, Brno), Rodolfo in La bohème (Ostrava), Radames in Aida, Don José in Carmen, the title role in Otello (Bratislava, Festival Opera på Skäret, Sweden and Graz).
Michal Lehotský has been a guest soloist at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, the Prague National Theatre, the Prague State Opera, and the National Theatre Brno since 2003.
His concert repertoire includes Verdi‘s Requiem, Mascagni's Messa di Gloria, Mozart's Coronation Mass and Requiem, Schubert's Mass in G major, Haydn's Theresienmesse, Lord Nelson Mass, Creation Mass, and Harmoniemesse. He performed Janacek's Glagolitic Mass with the Göteborg Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, and with the Czech Philharmonic Choir of Brno and the Odense Symphony Orchestra.
Michal’s CD recordings include Antonín Dvorak's King and Charcoal Burner (WDR Köln, Gerd Albrecht, conductor), Veniamin Fleishman's Rothschild's Violin and Shostakovich's The Gambler (Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Vasily Petrenko, conductor).
