
Nadja Stefanoff recently named ‘one of the best singer-actresses of our time’ by the renowned German opera magazine OPERNWELT, has consolidated her international career with Marietta (Die tote Stadt), Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Fedora, Marschallin (Der Rosenkavalier) and Marta (The Passenger), which she has performed at the opera houses of Helsinki, Düsseldorf, Bergen, Brussels, Frankfurt, Mainz, Innsbruck and Graz.
These roles are part of her wide-ranging repertoire like Norma, Medea, Manon Lescaut, Adriana Lecouvreur, Armide, Elisabetta (Maria Stuarda), Giulietta (Tales of Hoffmann), Lisa (Pique dame), Katja Kabanowa, Agathe (Der Freischütz), Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), and Elettra (Idomeneo). Further stages of her singing career included Komische Oper Berlin, Gärtnerplatztheater Munich, Bremen, Stuttgart, Kassel, Bonn.
One of the highlights with special importance for her was the debut as Marta in The Passenger in Graz in 2020/21, which was released also on DVD by Naxos.
Upcoming projects are the world premiere of Srnka’s Voice Killer at Theater an der Wien and The Passenger at the Capitole in Toulouse.
Nadja Stefanoff was born in Chemnitz as the daughter of a Bulgarian tenor and a German teacher and completed her singing studies at the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music and the State Opera Dresden.
