Born in Puerto Rico, she started her ballet training at the Nana Hudo School of Dance, Puerto Rico. She continued her education at the Southern Ballet Theater, Orlando, Florida, where she also made a debut as dancer. In Florida she danced Myrtha in Giselle (Jean Coralli-Jules Perrot/Henning Kronstam) and solos in ballets by Bournonville, Balanchine, Lichine, and contemporary choreographers. In 1990-95 she worked with the Royal Danish Ballet, dancing solo roles in Bournonville's classical ballets and The Sleeping Beauty by Helgi Thomasson.
In 1995 she transferred to the Hamburg Ballet, and was promoted to soloist in 2000. She then performed solo roles in Neumeier's The Seagull, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Lady of the Camellias, A Cinderella Story, The Saga of King Arthur, Nijinsky, Third Symphony of Gustav Mahler, Fifth Symphony of Gustav Mahler, Vaslav, Saint Matthew Passion, Messiah, Odyssey, Le Sacre, Peer Gynt, Magnificat, as well as in The Sleeping Beauty choreographed by Mats Ek, and ballets by John Cranko, Jiří Kylián, Kevin Haigen, Stephan Thoss, Gustav Sansano, and Petr Zuska.
Having retired from the stage in 2007, she became a ballet mistress with John Neumeier's company. Apart from working at the Hamburg Ballet on everyday basis, she staged Neumeier's ballets for the San Francisco Ballet (The Little Mermaid), the Stanislavsky Ballet Moscow (The Little Mermaid), and the Royal Danish Ballet (A Midsummer Night's Dream).
