Founder and general director of Robert Majkut Design, one of Poland's most esteemed design company offering solutions for business. He completed an artistic secondary school with flying colours, specialising in applied arts, before moving on to study architecture at the University of Technology in Szczecin, drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, and culture studies at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He then worked as an independent artist, exhibiting individually and as part of collective shows. In 1992 he refocused his career on design. In 1996 he set up his own design studio. As a designer he has worked with the most demanding investors; his creative team designs for leading businesses in Poland and abroad (e.g. in China and Russia).
Robert Majkut creates unique spaces and objects. He does not stray from non-conventional solutions, using a wide array of forms, livid colours, and daring juxtapositions of seemingly incompatible aesthetic approaches. The spaces he designs are worlds of their own: surprising, full of tension and internal dramaturgy. His style displays associations with organic forms – he often uses soft lines and fluid shapes. He is fascinated by the possibilities brought about by new technologies, and incorporates them into his designs. He sets his creations in a wider cultural context so that they respond better to the needs of contemporary people.
