Polish baritone Szymon Mechliński is considered one of the most compelling young Verdian voices of his generation. A winner of the Stanisław Moniuszko International Vocal Competition, in 2025/26 he debuts as the title role in Król Roger at Philharmonie Berlin and Teatr Wielki Poznań, Marcello (La bohème) at Santa Fe Opera, Heerrufer (Lohengrin) at Staatsoper Hamburg, Giorgio Germont (La traviata), Paolo Albiani (Simon Boccanegra), and Marcello (La bohème) at the Polish National Opera.
Recent highlights include Sharpless (Madama Butterfly) at Teatro Massimo Palermo, Valentin (Faust) with the Canadian Opera Company, Lord Guglielmo Cecil (Maria Stuarda) at Teatro Real Madrid and Dutch National Opera, Don Pizarro (Fidelio) at Opéra National de Bordeaux, Conte di Luna (Il trovatore) at Teatro Regio di Parma, and acclaimed performances at the Polish National Opera as Amonasro (Aida) and Pietro Negri (Beatrix Cenci).
