Italian bass-baritone, Tiziano Bracci, begins the 2015-2016 Season at the Rossini in Wildbad Festival in one of his signature roles, Dr. Bartolo Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Last season, he inaugurated the role with great success at Opera de Lille and in Jean-François Sivadier’s production in Limoges, which also toured to Caen, Reims and Dijon. He appears as Don Geronio Il Turco in Italia at Opéra de Dijon and returns to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden as Amantio Gianni Schicchi.
Recent highlights include his role debut as Don Alfonso Cosi fan tutte with Oper Koeln, where he also appeared as Il Sagrestano Tosca, a role he sang at ROH Covent Garden; and Melitone La Forza del Destino, which he sang at Vienna State Opera in the new production by David Pountney.
The artist’s professional journey began at the Deutsche Oper Berlin where he was a member of the ensemble in 2007, and where he first sang his signature role, Dr Bartolo. Since then, Mr Bracci has appeared in the role at Scottish Opera, Theatre du Châtelet in Paris, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich as well as in France. He frequently returns to DOB as a guest artist in the role.
Past highlights include his debut as Mustafa L’italiana in Algeri at Scottish Opera, the role of Antonio Le Nozze di Figaro at Monte Carlo Opera and as Schaunard in Torre del Lago Puccini’s production of La Boheme at the Abu Dhabi International Festival.
