Born in 1991 in Termopil, Ukraine, he began studying piano in his native town in early childhood. In 2007 he moved to Italy (Rimini), where he began studying singing at the Santa Cecilia School under the guidance of Valeria Esposito. In 2010 he started to collaborate with the Galli Choir in Rimini, singing in operas such as Aida, Carmen, Nabucco, Barbiere di Siviglia and in a series of concerts and 2015 he made his debut in Lehar’s Die Lustige Witwe in Lucca, Pisa and Livorno.
Vasyl was finalist at the Renata Tebaldi Singing International Contest in 2016. He then joined the Accademia Verdiana at the Teatro Regio di Parma, specializing with Giovanna Casolla, Barbara Frittoli, Leo Muscato, William Matteuzzi, Fiorenza Cedolins, Cecilia Gasdia, Fabrizio Carminati, Sonia Ganassi, Vincenzo De Vivo.
In the past season, he participated in prestigious productions such as: Nabucco with the Teatro Regio in Parma on tour in Monte Carlo; Le siège de Corinthe at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro; Der Fliegende Holländer at the Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari. He also made his debut as Nemorino in L’Elisir d’amore at the Teatro Comunale in Modena in the frame of the special project Modena Città del Belcanto.
At the Macerata Opera Festival he participated in the Rigoletto production (Borsa) and at the Festival Verdi in Parma in I due Foscari. He has also sang as Pong in Turandot and as Il remendado in Carmen in the Circuito Marchigiano (Italy).
Other recent engagements include: Le bourgeois gentilhomme, Ariadne auf Naxos, Haydn's La Creazione (under the baton of Fabio Luisi) at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca; Thomas' Le songe d'une nuit d'été at the Wexford Festival; Marin Faliero at the Festival Donizetti in Bergamo (Riccardo Frizza); Rota's La scuola guida in Jesi and The Rake's Progress (Tom Rakwell) in Mainz.
He made his debut at the Teatro la Scala in Milan in the Kaspar Holten production of Boris Godunov under the baton of Riccardo Chailly.
Plans include: revivals of The Rake's Progress in Mainz; Verdi’s Requiem at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw and Verdi’s Otello (Roderigo) at the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv.
