Dear Audience Members,
The Polish government has decided to extend most of the Covid-19 restrictions currently in place until 25 April, which means no cultural events can be held in front of a live audience until that time. As a result, we have been forced to cancel the following performances:
Workshop ON for children – 24 April 2021
Cardillac – 23, 25 April 2021
Meetings with Muzalinda – 25 April 2021
The opera Cardillacwill be performed to an empty auditorium with all the necessary safety precautions in place, recorded, and broadcast at a later date. The production's partner is Grupa Tubądzin. We hope that the two subsequent performances of Cardillac on 27 and 29 April will be held as planned with live audience.
We have also made other changes to this season's programme. The performances of Aida (6, 7, 8, 9 May 2021), Carmina Burana (29, 30 May 2021) and Romeo and Juliet (6, 8, 9, 10 June 2021) are cancelled.
On 7 and 9 May 2021, we will revive Werther, whose premiere on our stage was enthusiastically received last year. The title part will be sung by Pior Beczała, an audience's favourite and a great friend of the theatre.
The premiere of the ballet Mayerling was postponed from 21 May to 4 June 2021, with subsequent performances scheduled to take place on 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 June.
We continue to invite you to take advantage of our digital programme From Friday, 16 April, you may watch Sergei Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet in Krzysztof Pastor's choreography on OperaVision.eu and vod.teatrwielki.pl.
