The International Dance Day was an occassion to honour Polish ballet and dance artists. Among those decorated were ballet masters of the PNB. The Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland awarded Silver Gloria Artis Medals for Merit to Culture to Kalina Schubert and Walery Mazepczyk for their long-standing contribution to the artistic achievemnst of the ballet of the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera. They were presented with the medals by Dr Zenon Butkiewicz, director of the Department of National Culture Institutions at the culture ministry, at a ceremony which took place on 4 May 2015 at the Association of Polish Theatre, Film, Radio and Television Artists (ZASP) in Warsaw.
