Dear Audience Members!
We have been waiting for this moment for a long time!
It has been four and a half months since we were able to welcome you to our opera house. During this time, we were available to you online and are grateful that you visited our streaming service vod.teatrwielki.pl and social media channels in great numbers. Today, we are happy to announce that, per a decision of the Polish government, the opera house will open its doors to the audience later in February.
• On 25 February will show you Romeo and Juliet, Krzysztof Pastor's famous ballet set to music by Sergei Prokofiev's, which the Polish National Ballet is busy rehearsing now. Get your tickets here
• On 20 February the Opera Gallery will open its first 2021 exhibition: a show of works by Jan Cybis that marks the artist's birthday.
• Our youngest and more mature audience members with a thirst of opera knowledge can now buy tickets for the Opera University for children (Get your ticket here) and grown-ups (Get your tiekct here).
At the same time, we are working on two new productions: Mariusz Treliński's staging of Paul Hindemith's opera Cardillac and Kenneth MacMillan's ballet Mayerling set to music by Franz Liszt, which will premiere in April and May, respectively. With the pandemic still very present, we have made some changes to the programme of this season which we will make known next week.
We will also continue to offer you some exciting online broadcasts. Tomorrow, on 6 February, at 7 p.m. CET, Online Ballet Gala: An Encore premieres on vod.teatrwielki.pl.
We cannot wait to see you back in our auditoriums!
The physical Box Office is open on weekdays from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. and on weekend performance nights. You may also get your tickets online on butik.teatrwielki.pl.
