A Tale of Stanisław Moniuszko

Come to a meeting with Izabella Klebańska, the author of the book Hej, zagrajcie siarczyście! about Stanisław Moniuszko published by Wydawnictwo Literatura.

The author will talk about the extraordinary times when Moniuszko was born and his unique family. She will describe his childhood and all the ups and downs of his volatile music career. The participants will have a chance to listen to Moniuszko pieces performed live as Anna Parysz (vocals) and Karolina Tańska (piano) will perform the composer's songs from the Songbook for Home Use and fragments of the arias featured on an album accompanying the book. The children will also be invited to sing themselves and learn how to dance the fiery mazurka!

Izabella Klebańska is an author and graduate of the Łódź Academy of Music. She writes scripts for such Polish TV shows for children and young people as Tut turu, Miganki, or Piosenkarnia. She has also collaborated with such TV shows as 5, 10, 15 and Domowe przedszkole. In 2001 she was presented with the Yach award for the best music video script (Rowerek). She leads very lively meetings with kindergarten and school children, promoting music among the young audiencs in a fun and approachable way. The meetings are both highly entertaining and informative. Izabella Klebańska poems and stories are featured in Polish primary school textbooks.
