Dance is our Freedom
14th Days of Dance Performance presented by the students of the Roman Turczynowicz Ballet School in Warsaw
In the school's over two centuries of existence, its students and alimni successfully expressed their love of freedom mixed with a dose of patriotism, conveyed emotions, and sought to release beauty into the world. After all, no other artform can manifest human feelings through the performer's body and spirit like dance.
In the first part of the concert, we will see elves celebrating their freedom in the fantastic kingdom of Oberon and Titania, dancing to fragments of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Midsummer Night's Dream performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Karol Szymanowski Music School in Warsaw under Wojciech Pławner. In the second part the students will take the audience on a tour de force of folk, historical and contemporary dances.
