Ida and Oscar Pfeiffer / Martha Noguera (recital)
Talk and piano recital
An event held in conjunction with the exhibition Cesare Trombini Artista distinto di musica displayed in the Redutowe Rooms of the Polish National Opera.
When studying under Joseph Mayseder in Vienna, Cesare Trombini met a young pianist by the name of Oscar Pfeiffer, who left a note in Trombini's album amicorum. Pfeiffer was a son of Ida Pfeiffer, a traveller and ethnographer who visited North America, among many other places. In 1858 Oscar went on a journey in her footsteps and settled in Argentina, where he performed and taught the piano and composition. The talk focuses on these two fascinating individuals and is combined with a piano recital by Martha Noguera, an Italian-Argentinian artist and foudner of the Chopiniana Foudantion in Buenos Aires.
