Classical dance teacher and ballet master. Born in Warsaw, where he also graduated from ballet school. He joined the Teatr Wielki’s ballet in 1969 and danced many solo parts with the company, including Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake. He was a soloist of Roland Petit’s Ballet National de Marseille in the 1971/72 season, and danced with the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm in the 1972/73 season. He became a soloist of Maurice Béjart’s Ballet of the 20th Century in Brussels in 1973, dancing many leading roles in Béjart’s choreographies: Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, the title role in The Firebird, and solo parts in the ballets Bhakti, Our Faust, Pli selon pli, Dichterliebe, Golestan, Petrushka, and other productions. He also appeared in the world premiere of the ballet Love and Painand the World and the Dream prepared by John Neumeier for the Ballet of the 20th Century.
Upon ending his dancing career in 1979 he and Piotr Nardelli set up the Balletomania ballet studio in Brussels, where he teaches to this day. In 1984–1992 he was a teacher and ballet master at the Deutsche Oper am Rein in Düsseldorf and the Dance Academy in Cologne. He has also been invited as a guest teacher to work with many ballet companies: the Royal Swedish Ballet and the Cullberg Ballet in Stockholm, the Finnish National Ballet in Helsinki, the Royal Ballet in Oslo, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Ballet du Nord in Roubaix, Compagnie Rosas – Anna Teresa de Keersmaeker, Ballet de Wallonie in Liège, the opera houses of Munich, Berlin and Prague, and the Polish National Ballet in Warsaw. He frequently teaches ballet workshops in Germany (Sommerakademie Köln), Austria, Belgium, Finland (Kuopio Dance Festival), Denmark (Bartholin Ballet Seminar Copenhagen), France (Federation de Danse on Reunion Island and Stage de Danse St. Cyprien), Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, and Japan.
