Artur Janda is a graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Music, where he studied singing under Dr A. Radziejewska and piano under Professor K. Gierżod. He is a prizewinner of the Franciszka Platówna Singing Competition in Wrocław and de Reszke Competition in Częstochowa. He received scholarships from the Polish Prime Minister, Mayor of Częstochowa, and the Provincial Government of Lower Austria.
In concert, he sang at the majority of Polish philharmonic halls under a range of top-tier conductors. He regularly performs and records with La Tempesta, an early music ensemble.
In 2008 he joined the Warsaw Chamber Opera. With the company he sang Orbazzano in Rossini's Tankred, Alidoro in Rossini's La cenerentola, Selim in Rossini's Il turco in Italia, Handel's Imeneo, Orfeo in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, Aeneas in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Figaro in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, Papageno in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni and Masetto in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Dulcamara in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore, Marshal in Moniuszko's Halka (Vilnus version), Azarias in Britten's The Burning Fiery Furnace, Sewer in Krauze's Polieukt, Ben in Menotti's The Telephone, and Professor in Dobrzyński's Operetta. He repised the role of Sewer at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse in 2011.
In May 2011 he made his debut at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, singing un Passante and un Poliziotto in the world premiere of Sciarrino's Superflumina. In addition, as part of his collaboration with the Dramma per Musica Association, he performed at the Stanisławowski Theatre in Warsaw as Pallante in Handel's Agrippina, Zoroastro in Handel's Orlando, and Melisso in Handel's Alcina. He was Il Malaspina in Sciarrino's Luci mie traditrici at the Warsaw Autumn Festival in 2016 and NODO Festival in Ostrava in 2018.
In November 2016 Mr Janda made his debut at the Polish National Opera, where he portrayed Zbigniew in Moniuszko's The Haunted Manor, Escamillo in Bizet's Carmen, and Provost Marshal inHindemith's in Cardillac.
He made guest appearances with the Dutch Reisopera Enschede (Handel's Giulio Cesare and Mozart's The Magic Flute), Wrocław Opera (Rossini's La cenerentola, Możdżer's Immanuel Kant), Opera Nova Bydgoszcz (Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore), Baltic Opera Gdańsk (Bernstein's Candide, Cagnoni's Don Bucefalo, Beethoven's Fidelio), Grand Theatre Łódź (The Marriage of Figaro), and Polish Royal Opera (Handel's Rodelinda).
In 2022 he made his debut at the Golden Hall of the Viennese Musikverein.
Mr Janda's concert repertoire includes Bach's St. John Passion, St Matthew's Passion, Mass in B major,and Weihnachtsoratorium; Handel's Messiah; Haydn's The Seasons, The Creation, and Teresian Messe; Mozart's Requiem and Coronation Mass, Dvorak's Stabat Mater, Liszt's Coronation Mass, Fauré's Requiem, Penderecki Seven Gates of Jerusalem, Kurpiński's Te Deum, and Kilar's Te Deum.
In in 2015, as a member of a proMODERN ensemble (2012–2015), he won two Fryderyk Awards for the album Where Are You. Pieces From Warsaw (Best Polish Music Recording). In 2018 he won another Fryderyk Award for Antonio Caldara – Maddalena ai piedi di Cristo (Early Music Album of the Year). He was trice nominated for the Jan Kiepura Award (Best Opera Singer category).
