
Born in the Soviet Union in a ballet family. Both, father and mother were dancing with Perm State Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2002 right after graduating from The Perm Ballet School with highest grades he joined the local ballet company, where he was dancing soloist and principal roles from a young age, touring a lot around the world. In 2004 he got to the final round of International Ballet Competition “Arabesk” and received the “most talented dancer” prize. In 2007 he was offered to join The Dutch National Ballet. Shortly after that he was promoted to principal dancer with the company. In Amsterdam he also received Alexandra Radius Prize for remarkable achievements. He was repeatedly mentioned by Dance Europe magazine’s critics for outstanding performances in George Balanchine’s Apollon musagète, Natalia Makarova’s La Bayadere and John Cranko’s Onegin. Besides most of the classical ballets, his repertoire includes a lot of diverse works by famous choreographers such as George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Hans van Manen. He has also had the opportunity to work with Krzysztof Pastor, Hans van Manen, John Neumeier, Christopher Wheeldon, Alexei Ratmansky, Natalia Makarova, Diana Vishneva (as partner), Peter Wright, Benjamin Millepied and others. Also has appeared in a various worldwide gala performance, festivals and as a guest artist with different companies.
