Bekhzod Davronov

Tenor

Born in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Bekhzod studied at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan before joining the Young Artists Program at the State Academy of the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet in 2016. He later became a soloist with the Bolshoi Theatre, where his repertoire included La traviata, The Tsar’s Bride, Iolanta, Boris Godunov, and Il viaggio a Reims. Bekhzod Davronovwas awarded Second Prize at Operalia in 2021.

In the current season, he makes two notable house debuts: at the Royal Opera and Ballet as Alfredo Germont La traviata, and at the Polish National Opera (Teatr Wielki) in his role debut as Roméo in Roméo et Juliette. He also returns to several leading houses, including the Wiener Staatsoper as Sir Edgardo di Ravenswood Lucia di Lammermoor, the Bayerische Staatsoper as both the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto and Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore; and the Semperoper Dresden as Rodolfo in La bohème and Roméo Roméo et Juliette. On the concert stage, he appears at "Christmas in Vienna" at the Wiener Konzerthaus, conducted by Heinz Ferlesch. 

Last season featured a series of important debuts: Alfredo Germont La traviata and Rodolfo La bohème at Dallas Opera; Sir Edgardo Lucia di Lammermoor, Rodolfo, and Alfredo at the Semperoper Dresden; and the Duke of Mantua Rigoletto at Irish National Opera. He also made his Salzburg Festival debut as Roberto, Count of Leicester, in Maria Stuarda.

Other recent highlights include Cassio Otello at the Wiener Staatsoper, Don Ottavio Don Giovanni at Teatro di San Carlo, Prunier La rondine at the Metropolitan Opera, Alfredo La traviataat Santa Fe Opera, and Rodolfo both at the Prague State Opera and on tour with Glyndebourne Festival Opera. Notably, he performed the role of Anatol Kuragin in a new Dmitri Tcherniakov production of War and Peace, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski at the Bayerische Staatsoper, and sang Aljeja in From the House of the Dead at the Ruhrtriennale Festival.

On the concert platform, he has appeared in gala performances at the Salzburg Whitsun Festival, in Bruckner’s Te Deum, and in concert performances of From the House of the Dead with Omroep Muziek, among others.

At the Polish National Opera he sings Gounod's Roméo (2026).
