Claudio Schellino was born in Torino where he also studied at the Ballet School of Teatro Nuovo directed at that time by Marika Besobrasova. He followed on with Sara Acquarone in Torino and Rosella Hightower in Cannes.
After the school he joined the Company of Teatro Nuovo (1982-1988) under the Artistic Direction of Luciana Savignano where after one year was nominated a soloist. His career developed with Vittorio Biagi and his Company Danza Prospettiva (1988-1989), the Nuovo Balletto di Roma (1989-1990), the Balletto Teatro di Torino (1989-1994) and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan (1994-1996) where he performed works for many distinguished choreographers.
After the two-year course for ballet masters in the Teatro alla Scala, he started working at the Balletto Teatro di Torino as trainer and restaged a ballet of Roberto Castello. In 1997 started working as a ballet master with Pierre Wyss in Braunschweig and after four years he was promoted to the position of co-director and first ballet master in Badisches Staatstheater in Karlsruhe (2000-2004) under the direction of Pierre Wyss. While in Braunschweig he finished in 1999 his studies at the University of Bologna DAMS in Organization and Economy of Opera House.
In 2003 he joined the Ballet of Zaragoza in Spain as a ballet master. Since 2004 he has worked as first ballet master in Saarbrücken under the direction of Marguerite Donlon.
During all these years, numerous were the collaborations and invitations to other dance companies as a guest trainer or as a ballet master to restage several ballets: Balletto di Toscana, Gulbenkian Ballet (Lisbon), Balletto Teatro di Torino, Arena di Verona, Companhia Nacional de Bailado (Lisbon), Joffrey Ballet (Chicago), Hessisches Staatstheater (Wiesbaden) among others.
