Maciej Ufniak studied voice at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw under Professor Ewa Iżykowska. He also trained with Ingrid Kremling, James David Brock, Teresa Żylis-Gara, Ryszard Karczykowski, Tomm Krause, Elena Obraztsova, Fiorenza Cosotto, Giorgio Berruggi, Chris Meritt, Charles Kellis, Jacek Pazoła, and Dariusz Grabowski. Awarded the Kweiyang-Chopin scholarship, he won first prize in the competition 'W kręgu muzyki słowiańskiej' held in Katowice, Poland; first prize at the 2011 Belcanto Festival in Nałęczów, Poland; the Best Polish Tenor Award at the International Stanisław Moniuszko Vocal Competition in Warsaw; and first prize at the Kaunus Competition for Young Singers. He reached the finals of the International Vocal Competition Jakub Pustina/Peter Dvorsky. He also received an honourable mention in the Iwona Borowicka Competition in Kraków and the Złote Głosy Competition in Warsaw.
His repertoire includes: Ferrando in Mozart's Così fan tutte (Oper im Park, Austria; Gorzów Philharmonic Hall, Poland), Tamino in Mozart's Magic Flute (Lyric Opera Studio, Weimar), Lisander in Britten's Midsummer Night's Dream (Teatr Wielki, Warsaw), and Rodolfo in Puccini's La bohème (Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, Warsaw).
He has taken part in the 18th and 20th International Tournament of Tenos in Szczecin, Poland; the Three Tenors Gala in Warsaw; the Belcanto Festival in Nałęczów, Poland; the Jan Kiepura Festival in Krynica Górskia, Poland; the Jerzy Waldorff Festival in Radziejowice, Poland; the Festival of Viennese Music in Wrocław, Poland; and the Festival of Italian Music in Zamość, Poland. He has collaborated with conductors such as Tadeusz Kozłowski, Vladimir Kiradjiev, Olaf Storbee, Tadeusz Wicherek, Tadeusz Wojciechowski, Giovanni Vitali, and Grzegorz Nowak.
