She was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, where she trained ballet at the Choreographic Institute. When she was 15, she moved to the USA and continued training ballet schools in Idaho and Colorado. She got her first engagement with the Colorado Ballet, and soon became a principal dancer. In 2005, she joined Birmingham Royal Ballet, but in 2006 she was invited to join the Dutch National Ballet where she became a principal dancer. She is a prize-winner of Chabukiani-Balanchine International Ballet Competition (2nd place, 2001), Youth America Grand Prix Competition (1st place, 2002), Nina Ananiashvili & Gilbert Albert Star Award (2011) and Alexandra Radius Prize for remarkable achievements (2015). In the Netherlands she was frequently nominated and awarded by critics’ choice: in 2014 for her performance in Aleksei Ratmansky’s The Firebird and Balanchine’s Pas de deux, in 2015–16 season for the role of Mata Hari in ballet by Ted Brandsen, Clara in The Nutcracker and Balanchine’s Theme and Variation, and in 2017-18 season for the role of Kitri in Aleksey Ratmansky’s Don Quixote. In her repertoire, there are also main roles in The Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Swan Lake, The Lady of the Camellias, Cinderella and Romeo and Juliet. She also danced in many ballets by Hans van Manen (Live, 5 Tangos, Twilight, Déjà Vu, Two Pieces for Het) and George Balanchine’s (Jewels – Rubies and Diamonds, Tarantella, Symphony in C, Symphony in Three Movements, Apollon musagète, Violin Concerto, Serenade). She also worked with the choreographers like John Neumeier, Wayne McGregor, Yuri Grigorovich, Rudi van Dantzig and Christopher Wheeldon. She has appeared as a guest artist with different companies and been part of many big world ballet festivals around the world.
