Paul Tyers

Assistant to the choreographer

Born in Leicester, UK, Paul Tyers trained at the Rambert Ballet School and the Royal Ballet School. His career has been linked with Scottish Ballet from the start. Having danced a range of leading roles as the company’s principal soloist, with time he became a repetiteur, and in 1986 – a ballet master. In 2002 Mr Tyers was appointed assistant artistic director, and in 2005 – Scottish Ballet’s deputy artistic director, a function he performs to this day. Since 2009 he has also been artistic director of a BA (Hons) Contemporary Performance Practice programme of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
